Sandoval Lake

The trip is special for people with short time available. Is intensive, full of adventure, with possibilities to find wild animals and the most attractive landscapes, the lake is considered one of the most beatiful destinations in the amazon. It is easy to reach from Puerto Maldonado, even it is close to Maldonado it keeps nature rich in wildlife.

Day 1   Sandoval Lake

Reception at the airport and transportation to the WASAI MALDONADO ECO LODGE , where you will receive a welcoming tropical fruit beverage and a brief explanation of the tour and important tips before departure . Accommodation in your bungalows. Lunch (or Box Lunch on route according to the arrival time of flights). You will embark for a 30 minutes motorboat trip downstream the Madre de Dios River   until the access trail to the Lake . 3 Km . hike to the banks of the lake. We will have the opportunity to observe the great diversity of species of flora in this zone and maybe a troop of monkeys or other animals which live in the Reserve. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique prehistoric looking birds) monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live there. We will have the opportunity to  swim in the lake. Search for caimans. Farewell barbecue in the swimming pool. Rest of the night free to enjoy the night life of this welcoming town. Opportunity to buy some souvenirs.

Day 2 Puerto Maldonado

Breakfast and transportation to the airport. Visit to the Snake House (depending on the time of your departure flight)
