Just one hour from Puerto Maldonado (national capital of biodiversity) is located one of the most beautiful natural regions of the Tambopata-Candamo Reserve Zone. The Sandoval Lake is considered the most beautiful lake in Peru.

The tour has being specially created to enjoy the natural beauty of the amazonian jungle but with the security and confort of the best lodge in Puerto Maldonado.

Day .-1 Puerto Maldonado

Reception at the airport and transfer to Wasai Maldonado Lodge at the bank of the Madre de Dios River.Welcome and lodging in comfortable bungalows with a nice view of the river. Short visit of the town. Small walk to know the surroundings until lunch. Brief rest. Ethno botanical trekking through the jungle. During the walk you will see medical plants, huge trees and a great biodiversity. Guides will give an explanation of the tropical ecology and will answer any question. After around two hours, return to the lodge to enjoy the sunset at the riverbank of the Madre de Dios River.

Free until dinner.

Nocturnal options: recreation at the lodge, search of caimans in river or nocturnal trekking.

Day 2.- Sandoval Lake

Breakfast . Transport to the Sandoval Lake by boat until the access trail to the Lake. 3 Km. hike to the banks of the lake. We will have the opportunity to observe the great diversity of species of flora in this zone and maybe a troop of monkeys or other animals which live in the Reserve. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique prehistoric looking birds) monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live there. Lunch in the canoe or in a typical local lodge. After lunch we will have the opportunity to swim in the lake. Prepare yourself for an spectacular sunset.

It is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and comfortable bungalows of WASAI Maldonado Lodge. After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the town on foot, bycicle or motorcycle. We can enjoy the swimming pool and its cascade surrounded by verdant vegetation. Rest of the night free to enjoy the night life of this welcoming town.

Day 3.-

Breakfast and transportation to the airport.
