A new tour to visit the famous macaw clay lick at Upper Tambopata River. The upper Tambopata gives you more chances to see wildlife than any other place in the amazon.

Day 1:Puerto Maldonado

  Pick up at airport or bus station and transfer to WASAI  Lodge in Puerto Maldonado, where you will be welcomed with a delicious Cocktail or tropical juice. You will receive a detailed information about the tour and some tips for your jungle trip.  Transfer in  bus or  car to the trail were we  will then start a  2 to 3 hours ( 6 km ) walking journey through the jungle, we will carry out your luggages. While  we  enter to the thickness of the jungle by a narrow trail we will appreciate different types of forest with gigantic trees, you can also have the first encounters with the fauna of the amazon forest.  Arrival to  the WASAI Tambopata Lodge and Research Center.Accommodation in your bungalow.

The different sounds of the forest will be with us on our first night in the amazon.  Dinner and  overnight at Wasai Tambopata Lodge.

Day 2 Spectacular birding tour and nature trip:

Wake up at dawn and travelup the upper Tambopata River for an hour and a half to the Bahuaja- Sonene National Park.

You will see a magical sunrise.

With luck it is a great opportunity to see animals such as capybaras, tapir , jaguar, and deer in the surrounding virgin forest.

In the Clay lick, we will observe (from an appropriate distance) one of the greatest spectacle of the rainforest: dozens or hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws of varius species, enjoying their diet of  mineral salts on a river bank. We will have  a hot drink and a snack whilst watching birds and go for a short walk to look for animals such as monkeys.

We will return to to the lodge to have a late breakfast, and rest.

After lunch , ethno botanical trekking.

We will enter the verdant jungle on a special trail to observe wild life. We will then enter the territory of peccaries, deer,and others,with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys traveling through the forest in search of food.

Time permitting, we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the river or in the cascade of the cat.

After dinner search for caimans.

Overnight at Wasai Tambopata Lodge .

Day 3 Puerto Maldonado

Breakfast and transportation to the airport . New chance to enjoy the fantastic sunrise in the amazon rainforest , landscapes, and many birds. End of our services.
