Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is rated among the best trekking trips in the world
because of the exquisite beauty of it's natural surroundings, these include
different ecological areas from High Deserts to Andean rainforest.
Following
this ancient Inca Trail we will be walking past mysterious archaeological sites,
half covered by jungle overgrowth, that looks like you are discovering them for
the first time, and finally arriving to the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu.
Our journey is conducted by experienced guides that will make your trip
most pleasant and safe. All of our luggage will be carried by native quechua
porters that will make our journey a
different
one enhancing our Andean experience.

Day 1:We start our trek escorted by native "quechua" porters going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped mount Veronica , later going through Llactapata ,an ancient Inca citadel that protected the entry to two valleys (L+D)
Day 2: Today the first part of the trek takes us to the Inca Hamlet of Huayabamba, later going through Warmiwañuska pass (4200 mt), known as "dead woman's pass". (B+L+D)
Day 3: walking on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient archaeological sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth , later visiting the Phuyupatamarca (city above clouds) with spectacular view of snow covered Andean ranges, camping at Wyñaywayna , probably the most spectacular archaeological complex during the trek. (B+L+D)
Day 4: Passing through the Intipuncu (gates of the sun) , we arrive to Machupicchu the lost city of the Incas , then late in the afternoon to Aguas Calientes where we will overnight in the tents or in a Hostal (B+L)
Day 5:
Early morning rise and after breakfast we'll take a bus up to visit Machupicchu. An optional hike for the more dynamic persons up to Huaynapicchu, the pyramid shape peak that overlooks Machupicchu. Late in the afternoon we'll take the train back to Cusco.(B)

The trek begin everyday, all the year round (except february, closed for
maintenance).

MEALS
Breakfast varies from day to day and can include:
- tea, coffee or hot chocolate
- pancakes or bread (with butter/jam)
- eggs (fried, omelet) or Fruit
Lunches (the last day lunch is not included)
Lunch includes:

- seconds (spaghetti or rice with veggies and meat)
- tea or coffee
Dinners (the last day dinner is not included)
Dinner consists of:
- soup
- seconds (fish or chicken accompanied by potatoes en vegetables)
- tea or coffee
