This amazon lodge is a destination by itself. It's also used as a starting point for tours into the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, to the largest world known macaw clay lick in the upper Tambopata river.

Information:

Wasai Tambopata Lodge is located in the heart of the amazon aprox. 50km away from Puerto Maldonado in a straight line and aprox. 120km following the river course. It is inside the buffer zone of Tambopata National Reserve and surrounded by our concession for conservation of over 2000 hectares and next to the Bahuaja Sonene National Park.

The lodge has 19 bungalows designed with local architecture and built with materials from the area, most of them have river views and jungle views otherwise. The rooms have aprox. 35m2 and all of them have private bathrooms and mosquito nets. The common areas are composed by 2 open terraces overlooking the Tambopata River.

There is also a view point with hammocks in the second floor and a wide dining hall that can be used as a conference room ideal for workshops and courses. Between the facilities there are lush gardens with wild flowers, trees and tropical fruits.

Around the lodge there is a network of trails of over 30km that passes through our protected primary forest, which provides an excellent opportunity for wildlife observation. There are three ways to get to Wasai Tambopata Lodge:

-Land Vehicle + Boat : Land route from Puerto Maldonado to Filadelfia community for 1:20 hours aprox. And then 20 minutes by boat in the Tambopata River.
-Boat from Puerto Maldonado: 4-hour boat cruise upstream the Tambopata river starting at Puerto Maldonado and ending at the lodge.
-Land vehicle + trek: Highway route from Puerto Maldonado and then a detour to an off road trail through the jungle. The journey takes aprox. 1 hour and a half until reaching Venado Station, where you have to take a 3km trek through the jungle that ends at the lodge.

Our Services:

The reservations done through our website include transport to Wasai Tambopata Lodge by vehicle and boat. It also includes full meals and lodging. The activities are not included.

The menu is fixed and specific plates are assigned for each day. Every meal has a starter, main dish, dessert and beverage. The menu is healthy, balanced and made with local products (some from our own plantations). There are vegetarian and vegan options for those who wish it, you can request it in the reservation notes.

The energy at the lodge is supplied entirely by solar panels. They provide enough energy to have lights the 24hours in the rooms and common areas. Electronic devices charging however are limited to two periods of time per day: From 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm.
